What are the top beaches in Thailand?

Thailand is undoubtedly one of the best beach destinations in the world, thanks to the gorgeous tropical islands in the south of the country, the Gulf of Thailand, and the Andaman Sea. Practically the definition of the typical tropical paradise, their soft white sands, clear and calm seas, nodding palms, and cooling sea breezes are on almost everyone’s bucket lists. We’ve taken on the challenging task of picking out the best beaches in Thailand.

Here are some of the top beaches in Thailand:-

1. Railay Beach, Krabi

Railay is our favorite of all the beach destinations in the country. It is where we first went rock climbing in 2000. The limestone cliffs drew us there, but the beach is what keeps us coming back again and again. Railay’s gorgeous stretch of sand framed by enormous seacliffs is picture-perfect. Railay Beach is not located on an island, but it can only be reached by longtail boat so it feels like an island. When we first visited, we caught a boat from Krabi Town, but you can also take short jaunts from Ao Nang. A lot of people make a base in Ao Nang and do day trips to Railay Beach.

2. Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi

Made famous by the movie “The Beach,” Maya Bay on Koh Phi Phi Leh is a postcard-perfect beach with emerald waters encircled by lush cliffs. Please note that Maya Bay was closed indefinitely for environmental conservation, but do check for updates on its availability for visitation.

3. Patong Beach, Phuket

As Phuket’s most popular beach, Patong Beach is vibrant and bustling. It offers a wide range of water sports, beachfront bars, and a lively nightlife scene.

4. White Sand Beach, Koh Chang

Located on the island of Koh Chang, White Sand Beach lives up to its name with its powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters. It offers a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere.

5. Sunrise Beach, Koh Lipe

Koh Lipe, located in the Andaman Sea near the Thai-Malaysian border, boasts Sunrise Beach, known for its stunning sunrises and turquoise waters. It’s an ideal spot for snorkeling and diving.

7. Bottle Beach, Koh Phangan

Bottle Beach, on the island of Koh Phangan, offers a peaceful and secluded beach experience. Accessible only by boat or a challenging hike, it rewards visitors with a beautiful stretch of sand and a serene atmosphere.
