History of Devi Ambika Temple :

Gazette and survey on temple restructuring and reform, i.e., archaeological survey of Mayurbhanj (1911), notable archaeologist of India, Late N.N. The district gazette of Basu and Mayurbhanj, who comply with the famous bureaucrat late Nilmani Senapati, in the middle of the then Baripada town, known as Basasamal Guard, there was a small minor son of Ambika (Bisthali), with whom Servants were not in a sterile condition at that time a temple was built for the Goddess. The then famous Gujarati contractor, i.e. late Valaji Gobind, is credited with the establishment of the present main temple. The only son of Valji Gobind was suffering from smallpox, who was found to be in the form of incurable. After that he worshiped Goddess Ambika to treat his son. He believed that the Goddess’s blessing was shown on her son, due to which she got cured. Therefore, he rebuilt the temple of Goddess in 1920. Later, the present structure expanded. The temple of other Gods has been established inside the premises by the help of devotees of Ambika temple and donations.
