About:
Amboli is hill station near Sawantwadi . It is quit but pleasant hill resort. It is 690 mtrs above sea level. The area is surrounded with dense forest. The sea view point offers you pancromic view of a good part of konkan coast. It is 26 k.m far from Sawantwadi and 539 k.m far from Mumbai. There is big Marvelous Water-fall. Tourists used to play in water. In summer you feel cool in amboli.Amboli is situated in Sindhudurga District. Verdant landscape of Amboli comes live in Mansoons when cascading waterfalls are seen at different places in the mountains. At road side these pristine milky showers enable enthusiastic tourists to bathe in the streams. Amboli receives highest rainfall in India after Cherapunji 350 to 400 inches approximately.
Every year more than 50000 tourist visits this place. Mostly after Diwali till Summer end there is tourist rush at Amboli. In rainy season you will see beautiful waterfalls here. The British political agent, Colonel Westrop, developed Amboli as a hill station after the opening of the Ghat Road from the coastal town of Vengurla, now in southern Maharashtra, to Belgaum.
