About:

Ujani dam is situated in Solapur District. This dam is on the river Bhima. Bhimanagar a new township. Bird sanctuary. 20-km long Asia’s longest underground tunnel to carry water form Ujani dam to river Sina.It has a reservoir capacity of 1517 Giga Litres (GL). So it is one of the biggest reservoirs in the region supplying water for drinking and irrigation in the Solapur district (Maharashtra) and Bijapur district (Karnataka).

This dam has a spread catchment area and the backwaters cover a very large extent. Most of water in this dam is dead stock and can not beused for water supply and irrigation purpose. The water of Panshet, varasgao, khadakwasala, mulshi, pawana dams flow to this dam.
