Situated in the Thane district of Maharashtra, Dahanu is a coastal town where Persian settlers and Chikoo orchards propound their distinct culture and natural beauty. Its beach marks the beginning of the popular beach stretch of Maharashtra. Near to the beach is ‘Udwada’ which is a sacred pilgrimage site for the Parsis. The nearby stretch of Bordi beach reflects the sleepy nature of the seaside village that is famous for its boarding schools.

Dahanu is located barely at a two & a half hours driver from Mumbai on the west coast of India in Maharashtra bordering Gujarat.Located just 120 kms from Mumbai off western highway no. 8 is ideally suitable for a weekend vacation. Most of the trains (Western Railway) from Mumbai Central Station and Virar halt at Dahanu.If you have a penchant for sand, sea & surf this is the place to be.Dahanu once-barren land thrived under Irani settlers, an earthy people.
