March through May brings increasing heat though early morning market visits remain comfortable. The rainy season from June to October sees regular afternoon showers but mornings are often clear; waterfall visits are most impressive during wetter months though boat trips may be affected by higher water levels.

Ratchaburi is approximately 80 kilometers west of Bangkok accessible via Highway 4 and Highway 35 with journey times of 1-2 hours by private car depending on Bangkok traffic. Regular buses depart from Bangkok's Southern Terminal taking approximately 2 hours. The nearest airport is Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang; no commercial airports serve the province directly. Train service is available to Ratchaburi town from Bangkok's Thonburi station.

Longtail boats provide access to floating markets and canals with tours organized from piers. Motorbike rentals available in town for independent exploration to temples and national parks. Private car hire recommended for visiting scattered attractions across the province. Tuk-tuks operate within town limits for short trips.

Ratchaburi's cuisine reflects central Thai traditions with notable freshwater fish dishes from the Mae Klong River including spicy catfish curries and fermented fish products. The province is famous for its floating market food culture with vendors serving boat noodles coconut milk desserts and fresh fruits directly from wooden boats. The province holds traditional kite festivals during the cool season when conditions are favorable along riverbanks. Songkran in April features water blessing ceremonies at major temples especially Wat Mahathat. Boat races occur on the Mae Klong River during the rainy season between July and September.

Ratchaburi offers diverse experiences from cultural sites to natural attractions with fewer crowds than neighboring provinces. Visit floating markets early morning (6-8 AM) for authentic atmosphere before tour groups arrive. Carry cash as smaller vendors at markets and rural temples do not accept cards. Temple visits require modest dress covering shoulders and knees. Boat trips through canals require balance and appropriate footwear that can get wet.
