Prachuap Khiri Khan province occupies a narrow strip of Thailand's upper peninsula along the Gulf coastline with Myanmar to the west. Prachuap Khiri Khan town holds the annual Monkey Buffet Festival offering food to the local macaque population at the hilltop temple. Songkran in April features water blessings and temple ceremonies throughout coastal towns.

Book accommodation in advance for weekend visits from Bangkok especially during Thai holidays.
