Most visitors base themselves in Nakhon Sawan city, which has budget guesthouses through mid-range hotels. A handful of simple lakeside resorts and homestays suit birdwatchers wanting an early start on the water.

Costs are low: a modest entry fee, cheap local meals and short transport hops from the city. Even with a boat trip added, a lake-and-aquarium day is an economical outing by any standard.

Expect only small kiosks with snacks and souvenirs at the site. For proper shopping, Nakhon Sawan city has fresh markets, malls and shops selling the province's well-known sweets.

Keep hold of small children near open water outside the aquarium and follow staff guidance around the tanks. Sun protection and drinking water matter more than anything else here, especially in the hot season.

The aquarium's paths and viewing areas are largely level and manageable for strollers, though some thresholds and ramps may need care for wheelchair users. The surrounding lakeshore is flat but can be uneven underfoot.

Signage is primarily in Thai, with some English labels on major displays. Basic greetings like sawasdee and khop khun are appreciated, and staff will usually try to help even across a language gap.
