Balasore Baptist church is run by Orissa Baptist Evangelistic Crusade (OBEC) which is a Baptist Christian church body. This body is affiliated by Baptist world alliance. The history Baptism started in Orissa in the year 1827. After that many belivers baptised in chritinaity and around year 1899 Indian Baptist Missionary Society was formed and continued till 1909. After that its name changed various times in the year 1969 Orissa Baptist Evangelistic Crusade took over the evangelical responsibility of Orissa Baptists. According to wikipedia OBEC has 26 consolidated Unions, 3240 churches and about 648,000 members above 13 years and 300,000 baptized believers and this church is amongst one of them.
