Yandang Mountain, near Wenzhou in southern Zhejiang, is a UNESCO Global Geopark celebrated for its dramatic scenery of volcanic rock spires, cliffs, waterfalls, and caves, shaped by ancient volcanic activity followed by millions of years of erosion. Visiting Yandang Mountain typically involves an admission ticket covering entry to the main scenic area, with some sub-areas or attractions, such as certain caves or waterfalls, potentially requiring additional fees. Wenzhou Longwan International Airport and Wenzhou's high-speed rail station serve as the nearest major transport hubs, roughly 1.5–2 hours from the mountain by road, with local buses and taxis completing the connection to the scenic area entrances.

Trails can involve steep sections, stairs, and uneven or slippery terrain near waterfalls and caves, so sturdy footwear and caution are essential, particularly after rain. Checking weather conditions before a visit is important given the region's typhoon risk in late summer, which can affect trail safety and access.

Comfortable hiking shoes suited to varied and sometimes steep terrain, a rain layer given the region's changeable weather, and water and snacks for a day of walking between scenic sub-areas are all worth bringing.
