The boon was that no man or god will be able to kill him. After this boon, Mahishasura swelled with pride and being invincible, he took disadvantage of his powers and started spreading terror and damage.

Durga Puja is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India. It marks the celebration of Goddess Durga and the triumph of good over evil. Madras kali Bari, West mambalam inside the Kolkata Kali temple in west Mambalam, its ingaurated by the Swami Lokeshwaranand Maharaj, President of Ramakrishna Mission, Belurmath on 3 Feb 1981 the Madras Kali Bari Pandal celebrates both Tamil and Bengali traditions of Dushera and makes for a deeply spiritual celebration. At the entrance, you will find an elegantly decorated Durga idol. Apart from performing puja, we, the devotees at Madras Kali Bari also believe that service to mankind is service to God.

At the entrance looks like amazing views here lots of people take participate in the Sandhya arati you can see it all. The cultural programmes start from 7 pm daily. In the evening both tradition you can see here as the Tamil crowd and the Bengali Crowd interact with each and get know the traditions. Here, lunch consisting of authentic Bengali delicacies is provided free of cost. The pandal closes at 10 pm.
