History of Jagannath Temple :

Jagannath Temple built in 1161 century. Gods of Puri temple are commonly known as trinity. Chaturdsha Murti Murthy is for scholars. Gods of Puri temple are commonly known as trinity. But for the scholars there is a four-fold murti. Even today some people think that there was only Jagannath as the purpose of worship and Neela Madhava disappeared. King Indraudum made lord Jagannath’s body with a log of wood that was raised from the sea. Due to a divine direction received by the king, scholars believe that there was no trinity at present. Examples of the number of temples in Orissa’s Cuttack district are that they have only of Jagannath and Balabhadra have been carved and there cannot be seen Subhadra. It is also believed that Bhadra or Mangala were called as Subhadra and on the importance of Vaishnav, they were presented as Krishna’s sister.
