About Odisha Maritime Museum
The Odisha Maritime Museum is spread over more than four acres area and it was inaugurated by the Chief Minister on April 1, 2013. The Odisha Maritime Museum is an incredible blend of old and new, modern museum displays beautiful heritage in reputed galleries under maritime history, boat and shipbuilding, monuments on the shores of the Odisha coast, job workshop, rituals and navigation. There is also a special category, which includes a saw mill, a boat shop, a boat repairer, a children’s activity room, a library and a research center. History of Odisha Maritime Museum
This place is the only workshop starting around 1869, which meets the requirement of three provinces of Bihar, Bengal and Odisha under the Bengal Presidency of British India. It was established in 1866 after the Great Famine of Odisha, immediately after the efforts of a Scottish engineer Mr. G. H. Faulkner, was established by the then PWD Department of the British Administration, which is called “Naa Anka Durviksha”.

• Cuttack Chandi Temple - The Cuttack Chandi Temple is just 5.1 km from Dhabaleswar Island and Goddess Chandi is a temple dedicated to the goddess Durga. The statue of Goddess Chandi is attractive and looks lively. The architecture of the temple is very good, especially the work of the Gateway sculpture is also magnificent. This temple is highly revered by the people of Cuttack and the God is called very powerful.
• Barabati Fort - The Barabati Fort is just 3.0 km from Dhabaleswar Island. Today, most part of the fort is in ruins, during the medieval period created by the kings of Ganga Dynasty, it was not a huge building and there were palaces and court yards inside it. Today you barely get to see any palaces. Time and humans have destroyed the structure equally. Some structures such as entrance doors in the restive state, the walls of the boundary talk about the royalty of the Ganga Dynasty.
