Wuzhen is one of China's most famous water towns, located in Tongxiang within Jiaxing prefecture in northern Zhejiang, with a history of canal-side settlement stretching back over a thousand years. The town is divided into two managed scenic zones, Dongzha (East Gate) and Xizha (West Gate), both restored to showcase traditional Jiangnan architecture, stone bridges, and canal life, with Xizha in particular developed as an atmospheric evening destination with lantern-lit waterways.
