Wuhu Fantawild is a large theme park complex operated by the Fantawild (Fangte) group in Jinghu District, Wuhu, in southeastern Anhui Province. Built at a reported cost of around 1.5 billion yuan, the resort was one of the first mega-scale Fantawild developments in China and grew into a multi-park cluster that today includes Fantawild Adventure, Fantawild Dreamland, Fantawild Oriental Heritage and a seasonal water park. The complex is best known for its dense concentration of themed dark rides, motion-simulator attractions and elaborate indoor sets covering science-fiction, mythology and Chinese folklore subjects. In 2016 the Wuhu Fantawild Tourism Area was rated a National AAAAA (5A) attraction, China's top tourism classification, and it has since been recognised as a national nighttime tourism and consumption cluster.

Wuhu Fantawild sits in Jinghu District on the eastern side of Wuhu city, a prefecture-level city on the south bank of the Yangtze River in southeastern Anhui Province. Wuhu itself lies roughly 119 kilometres southeast of the provincial capital Hefei and about an hour south of Nanjing by train, placing the resort within easy reach of the Yangtze River Delta rail network. The original Fantawild Adventure park is located at Yinhu North Road in Jinghu District, while the newer Dreamland and Oriental Heritage parks sit together at a second site in the Huaqiang Culture and Technology Industrial Park on Chizhushan East Road.

Wuhu has a humid subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons, plentiful sunshine and abundant rainfall. Average annual temperatures run around 15-16°C, with January the coldest month and August the hottest and most humid. A concentrated rainy spell known locally as the plum-rain season typically arrives from mid-June into early July, bringing heavy, persistent showers that can disrupt a day of park-hopping. Summers are hot and muggy, which is one reason the park extends its operating hours in July and August, while winters are cool and comparatively dry. Visitors should try to avoid the mid-June to early-July rainy stretch, when downpours can shut down outdoor rides, and be prepared for large domestic crowds during Chinese national holidays such as Golden Week and the Spring Festival, when queue times lengthen considerably.

Construction of the original Wuhu Fantawild Adventure park began on 1 September 2006 and was completed by 18 October 2007, when the park entered trial operation; it opened fully to the public on 18 April 2008. Fantawild expanded the attraction in May 2009 with new rides themed around the Journey to the West story. As the Fantawild resort grew, the group added the Dreamland and Oriental Heritage parks along with a water park at a second site nearby, turning Wuhu into one of Fantawild's flagship multi-park destinations alongside its parks in other Chinese cities. Jinjiang Inn Wuhu Fangte sits close to Fantawild Adventure, while the Days Hotel by Wyndham Wuhu Anqi markets itself directly to park-goers with rooms offering city views. For a higher-end stay, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Wuhu is about 20 minutes from Fantawild Adventure and includes an all-day restaurant with regional Chinese and Western cuisine. Within Wuhu itself, Zheshan Park combines a zoo, gardens and temples and is one of the city's traditional green spaces. Jinghu Park and Tianmenshan Mountain offer additional scenery and hiking within the city. Since Wuhu sits on the Yangtze River about an hour from Nanjing by train, visitors combining a Fantawild trip with a longer Anhui or Yangtze Delta itinerary can also reach Hefei, the provincial capital, roughly 119 kilometres away, or continue on to Nanjing's historical sites.

Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes for coasters and simulator rides, and check height and health restrictions posted at each attraction before queuing, since several rides involve intense motion effects. Bring a light rain jacket or poncho given Wuhu's rainy season and the largely outdoor layout connecting indoor attractions. Book combo tickets in advance if planning to visit more than one Fantawild park in Wuhu, since Adventure, Dreamland and Oriental Heritage sit at two separate sites. Visit on a weekday if possible to avoid the longer queues typical of Chinese weekends and holiday periods, and arrive close to opening time to get ahead of domestic tour groups. Because several signature dark rides and shows run on a timed schedule rather than continuously, check show times on arrival and plan a rough route through the zones rather than backtracking.
