Kishkinta is an amusement and theme park situated 30 minutes from Chennai city over a sprawling campus of 120 acres of landscaped hills and lakes. Named after the legendary monkey kingdom in the Ramayana, Kishkinta is designed as a fun-filled environment for both Chennai-ites and tourists. The park has a variety of rides like carousels, tora-tora, bumper car, flume rides, wave pool, a waterfall, lakes, 3-D theatre, go kart and many more attractions. The park has attracted over 5 million visitors since its opening in 1995.

Kishkinta is considered as the best theme park in Indian sub continent. The park is located some 28 kms from Chennai city and towards the south of the city precincts. Kishkinta also happens to be the first amusement park of India. The park hosts a number of activities including exciting rides, water events, kids zone and many more. The amusement park employs contemporary technological innovations to provide the fun and frolic. The very name of the park has been taken from the epic Ramayana and represents the monkey kingdom, known to be a great recreational place.

National Art Gallery and Museum
Built in 1906, the Chennai National Art Gallery was originally intended to be a memorial to queen Victoria. An impressive certal dome flanked a series of smaller domes supported by pillars on each side. After independence, it became an art Gallery in 1951. It has bronze exhibits dating from 10th to 13th centuries and paintings of Rajasthani and Mughals of the 17th century. Established in 1857, the museum can justify its claim to being one of India’s best. There are large sectiors devoted to Archacology, Anthropology, Geology, Numismatics, Zoology and Botany along with comprehensive collections of arms and armour.

Parathasarathy Temple
Located at Triplicane High Road is the large Sri Prthasarathy Temple. This Hindu Temple, devoted to Lord Krishna, was built in the 8th Century by Pallava King and has been ornately renovated since.
