The place is ideal for both peace and adventure lovers since they can either walk around and soak in the beauty of the surroundings.The Nyayamakad gap provides excellent views of the Munnar valley. You can also come across some tea pickers at work.Nyayamakad can be accessed from either Munnar or Rajamala.

Eravikulam National Park (Rajamala):
Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is a sanctuary set up for the preservation of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The park has the largest known population of Tahr’s existing in the world and also shelters Atlas Moth, Elephants, Sambhar’s, Gaurs, Lion-tailed Macaque, Nilgiri, Langur, Tigers and Leopards. Spread across an area of 97 sq. kms, the Park exhibits the breathtaking natural splendor of rolling grasslands and exotic flowers. Anamudi, the highest peak south of Himalayas, towers over the sanctuary in majestic pride.
Pothamedu:
Pothamedu is a small village inhabited by the local people just 6 kms from munnar. Pothamedu is one of the Major plantation hubs of Munnar. Being a very high place, the surrounding places can be seen clearly.It offers an excellent panoramic view of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in munnar. The rolling hills and the, lush mountain and the breathtaking scenery here is ideal for trekking and long mountain walks.
Marayoor:
This is the only place in Kerala that has a natural growth of sandalwood trees. The sandalwood factory of the Forest Department, the caves (muniyaras) with murals and relics from the New Stone Age civilization and the children’s park spread across a hectare of land under the canopy of a single Banyan tree are of great interest to tourists. Thoovanam Waterfall and Rajiv Gandhi National Park are also nearby.It is said that, ‘Pandavas’ had stayed in the area during their ‘Vanavasam’ and so the place was named as ‘Maranjirunnaoor’. Now the place is known as ‘Marayur’.
It occupies a vast area on the slopes of the Western Ghats in Idukki district and is an important pre-historic site in Kerala. Apart from the Dolmenoid cists (Dolmenoids were burial chambers made of four stones placed on edges and covered by a fifth one called the cap stone) in Muniyara, Marayoor is famous for its natural sandalwood forests and pre-historic rock paintings.

Rajamala:
The natural habitat of the Nilgiri Tahr, Rajamala is 2695 m above sea level. Half the worlds population of the rare mountain goat or tahr, which is last becoming extinct, is now found here. The Nilgiri Tahr in Rajamala is now to be found in small herds found in Eravikulam-Rajamala region. The total number of Nilgiri Tahrs in Rajamala is estimated to be over 1300. Visitors are not allowed during the monsoon.
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary:
Periyar Lake,Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary Lying close to the plantations in the rich jungles of Periyar in Thekkady is one of the worlds most fascinating natural wildlife reserves - the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Spread across 777 sq. km, of which 360 sq. km is thick evergreen forest, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Noted for its geo-morphological diversity of wildlife and scenic beauty, the Reserve attracts visitors from all over the world. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar river adds to the charm of the park. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. The greatest attraction of Periyar remains the large herds of wild elephants that come down to the lakes edge.

Best time to visit Nyayamkad Waterfall
The best time to visit Nyayamkad Waterfall is during and immediately after the monsoon season (July–January) when the water flow is at its peak. The falls are most spectacular from July to October. Post-monsoon (November–January) offers good water flow with pleasant weather. Summer (February–May) sees reduced water flow but easier access.
