Devikulam:

Literally meaning “the pond or lake of the Devi”, Devikulam is a small hill resort in the state of Kerala where the possibility of getting mesmerized by its sheer scenic grandeur is a rule rather than an exception. Legend has it that Sita of the Ramayana fame came here and bathed in the waters of the lake in Devikulam.
Anayirangal:
Anayirangal is 22 km from Munnar. It’s a lush green carpet of tea plants. A trip on the splendid reservoir is an unforgettable experience.The Anayirangal dam is surrounded by Tata Tea plantations and evergreen forests. An ideal picnic spot.
Kundala:
Kundala is located about 20 kms from Munnar town and it is 4 kms from Mattupetty on the way to Top Station. Kundala Dam is also known as Sethuparvathipuram Dam. This are offers some of the most stunning view. The lake is dotted with brightly colored row boats, pedal boats and Kashmiri Shikaras. You can visit Kundala Club near by. There is also a Golf Course which belongs to Tata Tea Ltd. A written permission from club secretary required to visit this club. Aruvikkad Waterfall is also near Kundala.
Muniyara:
Muniyara is part of Marayoor which is 40 km from Munnar, in Idukki district, central Kerala. A fascinating destination for anthropologists and archaeologists from all over the world, Muniyara has remnants of Dolmenoid cists belonging to the Megalithic age. Dolmenoids were burial chambers made of four stones placed on edges and covered by a fifth one called the cap stone.

The Idukki arch Dam is also one of the attractions of Idukki district and attracts a large number of visitors.
Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary:
Wildlife Sanctuary extends over the Thodupuzha and Udumpanchola taluka of Idukki district. The Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 77 sq km and is about 450-748 m above sea level. It is one of the most beautiful and flora and fauna rich wildlife in Kerala.
Marayoor:
Marayoor is about 40 kilometers away from Munnar. It is interesting to note that Marayoor is the only place in Kerala which has a natural growth of sandal wood trees. Another attraction here is the relics of new Stone Age civilization.

The Idukki dam, built across the Kuravan and Kurathi hills is the world’s second and Asia’s first arch dam. The Idukki dam, lying close to the cheruthoni barrage is 550 ft high and 650 ft. wide. The Idukki arch Dam is also one of the attractions of Idukki district and attracts a large number of visitors.
Top Station:
Top Station, the tranquil hill station is located about 32 km from Munnar, on the Munnar-Kodaikanal Road. Perched at an altitude of 1700 m above sea level, Top Station is the highest point on Munnar-Kodaikanal Road and one of the most famous hill spots in Kerala.
Munnar Hills Station:
Munnar hills is siatuated at an altitude of 5000 to 8000 Ft above sea level. and is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala. This beautiful hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Sprawling Tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, and holiday facilities make this a popular resort town.
Munnar also has the highest peak in South India - Anamudi , Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking. The high ranges of Munnar were earlier known as Kannan Devan Hills,named after a certain Kannan Devan,who had been land lord in the Anchanad Valley on the eastern side of the district. The main cultivation crops in Munnar are Tea and Coffee.
