Udupi:- About 10 Kms from Mangalore, Udupi is a fairly large and upcoming town that was sanctum of Madhvacharya, the great Sanskrit Philosopher. The famous temple here, has a fascinating idol of Lord Krishna that is richly adorned with jewels. The unique basalt rock formations here just out of the Arabian Sea to break into startlingly myriad shapes. Vasco da Gama is said to have placed a cross here in the 15th century.
St. Mary’s Island: It is another delightful get away spot right across Malpe. The place is only a boat ride away. .
