There is a Nandaneshwara temple in Panambur. The sea port is near to Surathkal railway station on the Mumbai-Mangalore railway route. There is a beautiful beach on the shore of the Arabian Sea at Tanniru Bhavi to the south of sea port at Panambur.

Many factories are located at Panambur including Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers and Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited.

Panambur Beach, 10 km from Mangalore, is visited by large number of people during weekends and lies next to the New Mangalore Port. A group of kite makers and kite flyers from Mangalore, organize kite festivals at Panambur Beach which is usually conducted during the last week of April.
The Mangalore Chemical and Fertilizers Factory and the Kudremukh Iron Ore Factory are located nearby.

This is the most frequently visited beach and lies next to the harbour. The ships anchored out in the sea waiting for berth in the harbour can be seen from the beach which present an attractive picture. This beach is 10km from Mangalore

Panambur beach is probably the best beach in and around Mangalore. Waves are not that high but good sand beach. Panambur beach is located besides New Mangalore port which is the harbor for many ships. It is around 15 km away from the city center on NH 17. The Panambur beach is a popular Sunday outing spot among the locals. You can also view splendid ships sailing among the ups and down of the rough Arabian sea. One can see the shoreline stretching of all the way to Surathkal from here. The lighthouse of the Surathkal Beach can also been seen from this beach.“
