1. Fontainhas Heritage Walk

The Fontainhas Heritage Walk is an immersive walking tour in Goa narrating its past. Witness the Portuguese past that eventually survived the onslaught of development in the 21st century. The houses are dressed in yellow, green and blue, balconies fronted by wrought iron railings and tiled roofs transporting you to another era.

Fontainhas is not only the oldest but the largest Latin quarter of Asia. Located at the foot of the hills, Altinho hills with springs surround Fontainhas on the west side, which give it its name from Portuguese for “little fountain”.

3. Full-Day Tour Old Goa Dudhsagar Falls and Spice Plantation

One of India’s tallest waterfalls, the Dudhsagar Falls is located inside the Mollem National Park. The majestic falls are a little farther inland approximately 60 km from Panaji on the Goa – Karnataka Border. Literally translating to Sea of Milk , the 310 m high waterfall is divided into four tiers on the Mandovi river and resemble a heavy rush of milk flowing effortlessly down the hill.

While most people arrive at the Dudhsagar falls by jeep or by their own private transport from Panaji and nearby areas, others choose to visit the falls through a train journey or by trekking. The famous Dudhsagar Railway trek is closed to the public but the trek to the lower falls is still open.

The Dudhsagar falls should be visited during the monsoon when it is in full flow and the surrounding deciduous forests are at their verdant best. However, reaching the falls during monsoon if difficult and it is closed if the water level gets too high.

4. The Island of Chorao

Explore this beautiful Island and its star attraction – The Salim Ali Bird sanctuary. set out on a boat through the backwaters enveloped by the mangrove forest and soon would be perking up their ears to the sounds of bird life teeming around. Open your senses to nature as you spot birds, crocodiles and various species of Mangroves.

There would be learning about the gooing lumps like active little volcanoes all along the pathway were actually mud crabs at work, the loud clickety clicks were the sounds made by fiddler crabs with their large single claws.

The Island has more than nature to it right from the Devaki Krishna Temple that had been relocated during the Portuguese rule and a 450 year old Church with numerous stories tied to it.
