Dining options include a high-quality multi-cuisine restaurant, with additional eateries offering snacks and drinks. The curio shop, a favorite among tourists, sells a variety of gifts and souvenirs to commemorate the visit. History: |
Dolphin City was conceived with the vision of creating a unique marine-themed amusement park experience, focusing on bringing people closer to the wonders of aquatic life. Originally, the park's primary attraction was a large sea water tank specially designed to host dolphin shows, a rare sight in India at the time. In its early days, Dolphin City introduced four dolphins, transported internationally to be the centerpiece of the park. The park’s launch was met with great excitement and enthusiasm, as visitors flocked to see the dolphins’ engaging performances, which were a novelty for both locals and tourists alike. However, despite the careful setup and enthusiastic reception, the dolphins faced significant challenges in adapting to their new habitat. Within six months, they were unable to cope with the climate and environmental differences, ultimately leading to their unfortunate demise. This posed a major setback for the park's initial plans, as management had to consider alternative ways to continue delivering a memorable marine experience to visitors while respecting animal welfare. Determined to uphold its commitment to providing a unique and educational experience, the management team undertook an extensive search for suitable marine animals that could thrive in Dolphin City’s environment. After careful consideration, the park introduced sea lions as the new star attraction. Unlike dolphins, the sea lions adapted well to the habitat and quickly became a highlight of the park. Over time, these sea lions were trained to perform a variety of captivating tricks, showcasing their intelligence and playful nature. Their performances soon became a favorite among visitors of all ages, helping to re-establish Dolphin City as a popular destination for family outings and marine education. Today, Dolphin City stands as a testament to resilience and adaptability. The park continues to evolve, integrating additional attractions and experiences that highlight marine conservation and wildlife awareness. The sea lions remain the park’s most cherished entertainers, winning the hearts of visitors with their charm and impressive skills. Over the years, Dolphin City has grown into more than just an amusement park; it is a symbol of dedication to providing an enjoyable yet responsible interaction with marine life, making it a must-visit attraction in the Chennai area. |
