About Sabari River :

Sabari River is also known as the Kolab River in Odisha. This river is one of the main tributaries of Godavari and merges with Godavari near Kunavaram. It originates from the Sikkim mountain range at an elevation of 1350 meters above mean sea level (MSL) on the western slope of the Eastern Ghats in Odisha.
The Sabari River basin receives an average annual rainfall of approximately 1250 mm. The river forms a common boundary between the states of Chhattisgarh and Odisha before merging with the Godavari River and entering Andhra Pradesh. The Upper Kolab Project is also located along the Sabari River in Odisha.

Tributaries
One of the main tributaries of Sabari is the Sileru River and it is also known as Machkund. This Andhra Pradesh connects with the border point, Odisha and Chhattisgarh with the Sabari River in the triangular junction. Its auxiliary river has tremendous potential for generating submerged power, which is used with the help of Balimela, Machkund, Donkaryai, Upper and Lower Sileru Hydro Power Projects.
