History Puri Baptist Church CNI:Rev. William Bampton was the first Baptist missionary at Puri. He sailed to India on 29th of May 1821 along with William Ward, James Peggs, fellow-missionary and students. In the year 1912 this church was established and in the year 2012, Dec 08 new church building was inaugurated. |

Jagannath temple is amongst one of the four Dhamas (Holiest of the holy place) for Hindu’s. This temple was built around 12 th Century by king of Ganga Dynasty Ananta Varman Chodaganga Deva. The structure of the temple built in the Kalinga style of architecture with a height of 65 meters placed on an elevated platform. Konark Sun Temple (37KM) – This temple is located at Konark town which is 37 KM away from the Puri Baptist Church. Konark Sun Temple also known as Black pagoda and was built around 13th Century.
