A British architect was commissioned to build the palace and design it. In those days this disease was incurable and the sufferer was bound to loose his life once he is infected by the safe. Moreover the people considered the sufferer the worst sinner because he had been contaminated by the deadly Leprosy disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The king Suraj Kund was extremely depressed but then, a sage named Gwalipa came to his kingdom after hearing the news of the king&#8217;s disease. He eventually changed the name of the king and cured him from the fatal disease. The king was so impressed with the sage that he renamed his kingdom as Gwalior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hermit also blessed the king that his Kachwaha Clan would prosper in the same land and rule for many years there.
