Subernarekha basin is spread over Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal in comparatively small areas, with a total area of 29,196 sq km, with a maximum length of 297 km and width 119 km. River Suvarnarekha is also an important river for blue water with red river of India. It is devoted to Lord Shiva.
