Sambalpuri folk dance is mainly originated from the Sambalpur District, Odisha. It is a typical folk dance form of western Odisha that produces a perennial effect in the mind of the audience. The singing and performance of this form includes the typical touch of tribal and rural cultures. The performing artists are young women of different tribes of different districts of Odisha. In this, male artists include women such as drummers and musicians. The dance is accompanied by a number of instruments known as Dhol, Mahuri and many more.
The Sambalpuri folk dance is the most popular dance form in Odisha. Sambalpuri folk dance is another form is Dalkhai Dance. It is the most popular dance form of the Western part of Orissa.  The theme of this dance form is the external love story of Radha and Lord Khrishna.
