About Chaiti Ghoda Dance:

Chaiti ghoda dance is also known as dummy horse dance. It is one of Odisha’s popular folk dance forms. It is a folk dance done by fishermen community. Chaiti represent the chaitra month of the year i.e. from March to April, for full moon in Vaisak, from April to May, and horse is a horse in Odisha.  It is associated with the power sect of coastal areas and the display team contains different male and female characters than music companions. Rauta, the male character is the main singer cum commentator, who delivers the main part of mythology, whereas Rautani plays the role of wife Rauta, the female co-singer and dancer. Dancing is made alive with cuff dialogue and hilarious episodes.
