| Kadra Dam is situated in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state in India. The dam is constructed across river Kalinadi. The dam was primarily built as hydroelectric project for supply of water to turbines of electric power generating station. The project was completed by KPCL. 35 kms from Karwar is the Kadra village, with the Kadra Dam over the Kali River , with a Hydro elecctric Power plant which produces 517.28 MU of electricity annually. From Sadashivgad (near Karwar), you need to take the route towards Belgaum. After traveling for nearly 30 km on this horrible road, you get to a place called Kadra. From here, you need to take the road towards Kodasalli dam. On this road, you encounter Kadra dam built across river Kali, which can be seen from the outside (unless you get permission from the authorities to get in). This road almost runs parallel to the backwaters of river Kali. |
